Every Sunday morning from 9:30am-11:00am we “gather” to worship at Walker’s Funeral Home in downtown Mebane. Like most church services, we sing, pray and study God’s word. One of the things that we do differently is that at the end of our gathering time, we have a Q&A session. This is a time where people can freely ask questions about the message or from their personal study that week. Then as a church body, we help seek those answers from God’s Word.
Some people wonder what we do with the children during this time. As a church, we encourage children to come worship with their parents. We provide a sermon based worksheet for them to go through during the message. For parents who do not feel comfortable keeping their children in the gathering, we have 2 designated classes for children. One class is for 0-3 year olds and the other is for 4-6 year olds. Whether your children stay in the gathering or go to a class, they will work through the same worksheet that has been adapted from the sermon itself. Everything the parent learns will be taught to your children.
One of the highlights of our church includes our weekly small group gatherings called “Discipleship Communities,” also known as DCs. In these groups, real community is forged as we draw together around the word, prayer, and simply doing LIFE TOGETHER!
Currently, we have two DCs meeting at Reed’s Coffee Shop in downtown Mebane, on Tuesday nights, from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Come enjoy a cup of coffee with the church and spend some time in community with us. If you’re interested in learning more about one of these groups, please reach out to one of our elders by clicking below.
On Sunday nights from 6-7:30 pm, we have another DC regularly meeting at Mike and Julie Little’s home. If interested in attending, please let us know.
On Wednesday night from 6-7:30pm, starting June 19th, we have another DC regularly meeting at Jason and Charity Palmer’s home. If interested in attending, please let us know.
At Mebane Bible Church, discipleship is a high priority for our team. Day in and day out, we seek to lead people to be sincere, deep-rooted followers of Christ. In keeping with this goal, we prepare weekly materials to assist our discipleship community leaders, our members, and even our children as we all strive to know Jesus better.
As a church we believe in training people up in the church to serve her locally or to be sent out and serve elsewhere. As part of this training we want to provide opportunities for people to grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. One of those opportunities is in teaching people Biblical Theology. This 12 week class will be a brief introduction to hermeneutics through Biblical Theology, or how to interpret the Bible using the themes of scripture. You will become familiar with the overarching themes of the Bible so that you can see Christ from any book whether it be Ephesians, Leviticus, or Songs of Solomon. In the first 6 classes of the course we will cover the major biblical themes, and interpret a passage each week related to the themes covered. The final 6 weeks each participant will be given an opportunity to lead a discussion, of not often taught passages, using biblical theology. Please note, leading a discussion is not required, so do not let that keep you from coming!
Who/Where and When: Brad Batten will teach and plans to start the week of January 13. They will meet on a weeknight, probably in a home, which night will be determined based on what works for most.

WHY PLANT A CHURCH?
The need is great! Mebane is currently experiencing explosive growth and is set to stay at this pace for some time. We desperately want everyone moving into our community to hear the good news of Jesus Christ! Below is a quick sheet that tells even more about the need for more healthy, gospel-centered churches in our area.
